In November ‘09, TLC Discovery Channel’s casting directors began talking to Carolina Cupcakery about starring in a show that followed the daily trials of a family-owned cupcake bakery. TLC and “Cake Boss” producers eventually chose Georgetown Cupcake and, on Friday July 16 , they will unveil “DC Cupcakes” to an audience already drooling over the FoodNetwork show, “Cupcake Wars”.

Carolina Cupcakery unveiled their latest flavor, the Big Blue, created by Christie Sykes, cupcake- and ODU enthusiast. The presentation, made July 1, 2010 at the Granby Theater in Norfolk, marks the cupcakery’s 150th flavor and unofficially gives them claim to Most Cupcake Varieties by a US cupcake bakery.

In April, Carolina Cupcakery opened a second location in Norfolk’s Five Points Community Farm Market at 26^th and Church Street. They are offering an abbreviated version of their full menu, baked fresh and delivered daily, plus an exciting new line of fresh-milled breads.
