Hello ODU!

Carolina Cupcakery opened its third store, at Old Dominion University, making it the first college campus in the U.S. to have an on-site cupcake bakery. The storefront is located in the Webb University Center food court, which is open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Parents, faculty and students will be able to purchase gourmet cupcakes and specialties such as cake pops.  The location will even provide cupcakes for those with special allergy needs such as gluten free, sugar free and vegan.

The bakery is hiring students only. “This is our way of showing our commitment to the ODU community,” says Dawn Eskins owner and operator of Carolina Cupcakery. “Students everywhere are struggling to find jobs and if we can help those at ODU, then that’s an awesome thing. They are, after all, ODU’s most important asset.”

Through ODU, Carolina Cupcakery will provide parents, students and faculty the option to purchase special orders online available for pick up right on campus. Parents can still give their college student a sweet treat on their birthday even from afar. “We’re really excited about being a part of their important events. Sororities, fraternities and clubs can order special cupcakes too, in styles to match specific events,” says Eskins.
