In 2007 we started Carolina Cupcakery from our kitchen at home, to put real food back into school classrooms. When orders began rolling in we opened a storefront in Chesapeake Virginia. Everyone told us it was the dumbest business idea they had ever heard. Then the Virginian-Pilot featured us in the business section, cupcakes exploded and we survived 2008.
We consider ourselves very blessed, indeed.
